What is the one thing that everybody deserves but very few feel and live? That is happiness. We have to understand that happiness does not come from being rich or poor. It is the internal chemical reaction of our body that everybody can achieve, but in this fast-changing world, very few people achieve it, and this happens because happiness is not about once I will get this or once I will achieve this, then comes. Believe me, I have lived examples in my life. They have every material product in their lives, but they are still not happy.
Life is a journey; what next moments will happen, no one knows, so let it be like an adventure and live fully in the present moment. Material status can be part of your life, but if you want to attach your happiness to that, then most people make mistakes. Here we will understand how we can be happy alone and look at some strategies that we can apply in our lives to become more happy and full.
What Is To Be Happy?
In short, if we have to describe what happiness is, then we can say it is the pleasant feeling of an individual that spreads positivity in their life. Happiness can come from different aspects of your life, such as: if you are doing something in life and your result is satisfying, then your happiness becomes your part.
Your real happiness comes when you connect with your own truth. It can be anything. For example, this is my purpose in life, this is my relationship goal in life, this is my fitness and health I want, this is my achievements and progress I want this year, and so on. There, you connect with your soul and with your deepest desires and outcomes in life, and you are doing it. You listen to yourself about what you need, and we always have choices in our lives, but questions come. This is what you need. If you cannot communicate with your true self why this is important for you, then it’s not important for you, and if your deepest desires and needs match your communication, then your happiness matches.
Being Alone Vs Loneliness
Being alone and loneliness look similar, but they are totally opposite because the experiences you get in these two states are different, and here we will look at these concepts:
Being Alone
Being alone is always a conscious choice made by the individual; the reason could be that the person wants to be alone and spend time with themselves in order to experience something or to give themselves time for creativity, reflection, relaxation, and so on. Many people love to spend time alone because they want peaceful time for self-discovery and personal growth. Some people, when they are alone, feel like they are comforted and fulfilled, and they love to watch movies alone or go wherever they want. Reasons can be anything: being alone is not a negative, but this is the conscious action that an individual takes in their life for their needs, fulfilment, or happiness.
Loneliness
And other side Loneliness is not a conscious decision; it is an emotional state. Individuals feel isolated because there is no proper connection with others. Loneliness is often considered a negative experience of life because this feeling comes with sadness, emptiness, and so on. This often happens because individuals have some expectations towards social and emotional needs, but due to a lack of connections in relationships with others, they lack the support they need, and this gets them into depression, anxiety, and stress. In short, if we have to say, then we can say you have some expectations, but those expectations you are not able to fulfil due to a lack of connections.
How to Be happy
Happiness is the result of experience; it is an ongoing and personal journey. Here we will look into some strategies that can help you be happy alone:
1. Understand yourself:
Your happy stage starts with your understanding yourself. When you know who you are and what your core values in life are, whether you are in a crowd or alone, happiness becomes way easier. And for understanding yourself in an area of life, you can start with what I want, why I want it, why this is necessary, these are my boundaries, and these are other boundaries. When you create your life around there, you know all your needs and are working for the next level of growth in life, so claiming your happiness becomes easy.
2. Practice Self-compassion.
Sometimes how you treat yourself becomes the reason for your sadness, and if you want to be happy, then start practicing self-compassion in your life. You must understand that no one in this world is perfect; we make mistakes; we do some silly things in life; there you can get surrounded with shame, anxiety, negative thinking, and so on, but when you start approaching life with an open mind, knowing nobody is perfect, we make mistakes and then learn, and then claiming our happiness becomes easy in every area of life.
3. Engage in Activities You Enjoy:
When you engage in activities you love to enjoy, sadness and happiness do not come as part of attraction. Because you are doing things you love to do, when you are in the process of claiming your life purpose and goals, you have meaning in life, and when your purpose is attached to the outcome of helping others, all your focus goes to fulfilment and happiness. then your surroundings do not matter whether you are alone or with anybody; you always stay in a happy zone.
4. Appreciate:
Start giving yourself appreciation. You should understand that everybody is running for something in life, and this will never stop. This is the basic code of our living life experiences that we have to go through, and the needs of life never stop, but when you start appreciating what you have, then your way to be happy becomes easy and accessible.
5. Stop Comparing:
In life, somebody will be ahead of you, some will be behind you, somebody will be more than you, and somebody will have less than you, and this all happens through our life experience and the information we carry. And when you stop comparing yourself with anybody in your life, it opens the door for your happiness. You have to just focus on your work and experiences and increase your information on any topic you are working on, and as you do, you will get the outcome you are looking for, so stop comparing, understand the seriousness, and keep working for yourself. This is the way to be happy.
6. Stop Working For Happiness:
You cannot work for happiness; happiness is a state of mind where you feel enough within yourself, and as you attach your happiness to any outcome of your life, believe me guys, this desire of life will never provide you happiness for the long term. Why am I saying long-term? Because you desire something, you accept it and become happy, but when your next desire comes and the result doesn’t come as you expected, then your happiness will disappear and sadness will be all around.
