Toxic people can come into your life from anywhere; here, we have to understand that. In our lives, there is no control over which type of people you will encounter or face, but which person you allow into your life is in your control. Dealing with toxic people can be time-consuming, challenging, and full of emotional ups and downs. You must deal with toxic people because when you allow them to be part of your life, it will definitely affect your mental health and overall well-being, so it’s better to deal with them on time whenever you realize this person is not good for you. For your life, maintaining a healthy balance is very important. If you do not do it, it will start reflecting in your life or even in your surroundings, for example, friends and family. So it’s better to know it and deal with it, and here we will look into how you can deal with toxic people in your life effectively and maintain your harmony.  

Constant Criticism

Some toxic people can try to constantly criticize you; they will try to belittle you. Why they do that depends from person to person, but in most cases, this happens because they want to feel superior to others. Here, you have to understand that these kinds of people have motives, intentions, and feelings behind their actions, which you cannot control for why they do what they do. Here, you have to keep in mind that you can change yourself, not others, until they want to change. In this case, you can let them know first about their behaviors and see if they understand. Then, good to go. If not, create crystal-clear boundaries in your life between what you want and what you do not want, and let them know. 

Manipulation

Some toxic people can be manipulative in nature, and this most often happens because they want to control the situation or take advantage. This kind of situation can be tough to recognize, but when you know yes, that person is trying to manipulate me and taking advantage. You can start by asking a couple of questions about your situation and trying to know the reason why someone is acting like that. If there is serious concern behind that, then it’s better for you to start keeping your distance. We are habitual individuals; whatever we do, it’s our habit, and it cannot change instantly. It requires effort to make changes and takes time, and this you cannot do from your side for other people, so better take care of your life. 

Negativity

Some toxic people can also be like, They always have one negative outlook on life events, and they spread the same to others from their perspective. Not all individuals can be the same; it is our life creation, but if you stay constantly in negative environments, you are seeing all things as negative, no matter how good you think or want to think. You will start to see changes in your behavior, so take better care of your life perspective and work on it. What others do and say should not matter to you, and you should not pay much attention. I am not saying not to notice. Look. If something is good, then apply it. If not, let it be as it is and move on with your life. 

Lack of Accountability

Some toxic people are like those who never take responsibility for their actions, and when something goes wrong, they start blaming others. Here, you can lose your mind so much better when you are dealing with this kind of person. Try to stay calm. Don’t take anything personally. Always remember that what others do is not in your control, but what you do is all in your control. So let them know, through clear communication, what they are doing. Always focus on the solution and what you can do according to your situation. After giving all possible options, if the person’s behavior is still continuous, you better cut all contact with that person and start distancing yourself.

Aggression

Aggressive kinds of people are like those who get into others personal boundaries and try to overstep them, and in doing so, they never respect other needs. Do not try to copy their anger from your side; conflict can happen. Here, be specific about what behavior is hurting or disturbing you. If a person is from outside of your family, let them know if they do not understand. Remove them from your life and try to limit your exposure to them. If the person is from a family, then let them know through communication and be consistent with your approach. If they do such a toxic activity, you can do it with others as well, but it can be time-consuming. If you are ready to give time, you can; otherwise, for family members, you have to give your time; there is no option.

Set clear boundaries, limit your exposure to the person, and no matter what the situation brings, stay calm and composed. Don’t allow yourself to get into any kind of drama. Put your self-care above anything, try to give them options, and apply options if they work well. If not, distance yourself or end the relationship. Dealing with toxic people is not going to be easy, but you should always keep in mind that this is your life and you have to prioritize your life first.
